About Me
Hi! I’m Anthony Chesebro (he/him), a 7th year student/4th year medical student in the Medical Scientist Training Program (MD/PhD program) at Stony Brook University. I completed my PhD in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, working with Dr. Lilianne Mujica-Parodi and Dr. Helmut Strey in the Laboratory for Computational Neurodiagnostics. My dissertation work and ongoing research is focused complex systems and scientific machine learning in metabolic neuroscience. My prior work has focused on quantifying MRI-based biomarkers of cerebrovascular disease and tying them to clinical measures of memory loss and vascular pathologies. Outside of research, I am also interested in the intersection between humanities and medicine, particularly through the lenses of narrative and performativity.
Three awesome organizations I’ve had the privilege of working with here: Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) Center, Stony Brook Home (free clinic run by medical students for people on Long Island) and MagicAid (performing magic tricks to help kids undergoing pediatric procedures at Stony Brook University Hospital).
All opinions/views posted my own.
